Alfonso Corpus was a visual artist born in Gary, Indiana in 1940. Alfonso Corpus’s prints and paintings came to the attention of curators through his first exhibition SUENOS: Contemporary Latin American Art at the Noyes Museum in Oceanville, NJ in 2010. His work has been in several additional group shows including in the former Jersey City Museum. Corpus studied art at Indiana University, Bloomington, earning an MFA in printmaking. In 1980, he began teaching printmaking and drawing at The Richard Stockton College in Camden New Jersey. During his career Corpus received awards from the Ford Foundation, the New Jersey State Council on the Arts and the Rutgers Center for Innovative Printmaking and received the Distinguished Faculty Fellowship from Stockton College.
